Pumice-crete is the best building material on the planet. It's a mixture of pumice cement and water mixed and poured into a set of reusable forms. Walls are poured from 12" to 24" thick. Pumice-crete is fireproof, termite proof, rust, rot, and mold proof and has a high R value and good sound attenuation. Solid poured walls means no critters can live in your walls and is virtually indestructible.
Pumicecrete is the simplest way of building and if you have access to pumice then it can be one for the most affordable ways to build as it also uses the least amount of materials to construct. All you need is pumice, cement and water and has a very low cement content (as low a 10 parts pumice to 1 part cement).
When trying to build homes to last and are energy independent, Pumice-crete is the best building material on the planet!
Get hands on skills that you can apply to your own projects and ideas in a fun environment close to San Pedrito beach.
